Artsy As Hell Polish Haul

A HAUL! I haven't done a haul in ages, I feel like. Which is pretty much true. I buy so much to the point where I can't even keep track. But I've finally been able to settle down for the first time in a while and take pictures and everything. Chyea!

The places I picked these polishes up at were Walgreens and a local beauty supply in Peekskill, NY that I had never been to before called Urban Beauty Supply. I was so nervous because I have a bit of anxiety when it comes to going in stores I've never been before. A little weird, I know, but oh well. Here are a few pictures that I made SUPER ARTSY, just cuz.

I was FINALLY able to find these babies around my area. I literally have gone to so many drugstores on multiple occasions to no avail, UNTIL TODAY!!! Thank you Walgreens!

Milani Texture Cream - Tainted in Red ($3.99)
Milani Texture Cream - Shady Gray ($3.99)
Milani Texture Cream - Aqua Splash ($3.99)

These and the polishes to follow I got from the beauty supply. I got one polish cheaper because the guy who rang me up was nice, kinda. You probably can't tell from the picture but I picked up 2 pastel blue polishes... I don't know why. I've been aching to get Zoya Blu but if I can find a cheaper alternative, why not! Also, blue is my boyfriend's favorite color, so I thought maybe he'd like these.

NK Nail Enamel - Pastel Light Blue ($0.99)
Kleancolor - Holo Blue ($1.99)
Kleancolor - Pastel Blue ($0.99)

This last picture is kinda crummy but it's just a haul right? But yay Ruby Kisses! I've been wanting some of this brands polishes for ages and I thought I was going to have to order online which I hate! (I'm too impatient, haha.)

Ruby Kisses - Teal Envy ($0.99)
Ruby Kisses - Yellowed Out ($0.99)
Ruby Kisses - Tropical Blend ($0.99)

Quick NOTW + My Everyday Make-Up

As the title states, a quick NOTW; keepin' it simple with a gorgeous light grey with pink-fiery orange colorshift flecks within it. The polish is Grey-T to Be Here from Essence

You can see some tip wear, but it hasn't chipped which is wonderful. Can't find good polishes like these anymore. I absolutely adore how quickly these dry; one of my favorite polish lines by far.

Now onto my everyday look. I work at Hollister and they're very particular about their look policy. Technically I'm not supposed to be wearing any make-up at all but I just look atrocious without any at all.

I'm so scared of posting pictures of myself online because they always get stolen. Sigh. Anyway, as far as make up, I've been wearing Revlon Colorstay (in Golden Caramel) to cover up my under eye circles and a chemical burn under my mouth (yeah... don't ask) and for eye make up, my Sleek Palette is still going strong, using the brown to add definition to my eyes without making it look like I have any eyeshadow on at all. I smudge some black shadow to the outer corners and blend as well as I can. Mascara wise, I use Maybelline Full 'n Soft, one of my favorite mascaras of all time, to keep it natural but still noticeable enough. This is literally my everyday look that takes 4 minutes to do.

Whatcha guys think of my current profile picture on FB? :)

Sorry I Haven't Been Posting!

Like the title states, sorry! I can't seem to find my camera battery charger... bummer. I have a lot of posts I've been meaning to do. Until then, I hope you are all doing well! And I want to thank all of you who still follow me regardless of my infrequent posts. You guys are the best!

Malware Issues Anyone? - Message by Imperfectly Painted Relaying

There's a virus going around Blogger and I saw from one of my favorite Bloggers that she posted about it and I'm just going to do a copy and paste here, hopefully this will help you if you've been experiencing some issues.

"Hey everyone!

I'm sure some of you have noticed while trying to visit some nail blogs you've been receiving a warning about malware. If you see this on your blog or someone else's please notify them to remove their blog roll. I would remove your blog roll as a precaution anyways even if you do not get a malware message. I'd also recommend visiting Google Webmaster Tools if you have a blog through Blogger. If you just google "Google Webmaster Tools" it will lead you to their site where you can login, and it will show you if there are any alerts or critical issues with your blog.

I think there are some sites that are completely infected, while the others are just infected due to having content from the blogs that are infected. If you are the latter then removing your blog roll should fix the problem. I'm not sure what the fix is for the sites that are completely infected, but I'm sure Google Webmaster Tools may have some suggestions or tutorials on how to solve the problem.

I hope whatever the core issue is here it gets resolved ASAP!

Key point here: REMOVE YOUR BLOG ROLL!  "

April: Song I've Been Loving - Bright Eyes - "First Day of My Life"

Life can leave you with moments where you felt like you were just slapped in the face, eyes tearing up, knot in your throat. It can leave you feeling empty, feeling like there's no hope left. Life can be an awful thing but also a wonderful miracle. Funny how you can easily replace the word "life" with "love."

I get those two words confused constantly. What's that 4 letter word that ends with an "L" and ends with an "E"? You'll automatically think of the most important thing to you at the moment... well unless it's "lime" then I don't know what's going on there. But for a while what I thought about was "love" and because of that I forgot what "life" meant to me. Feeling relief, not fearing a tear filled fight some time within the day, reading a book without any inevitable anxiety, having a beer with a friend and laughing about nothing that really mattered, knowing you'll be coming home to a quiet room with a warm bed and nothing but the hope of some excellent sleep to bring you to the next day.

Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Because I was so blinded by love. I loved love because it brought me so high up with happiness where I felt like I was basking in clouds and beautiful sunlight. But then there goes the clouds, they're getting dark and it's starting to rain. What happened to the sunlight? A wise man once said that what comes up must come down. And it did. Over and over again, boy, did I fall. And fell, and fell. I lost my soul for a little, lost who I was. Lost faith in myself and my future and if it was worth even having one. Thanks love, you really got me there! Jokes on me right?

--------Hah. Before, I get sarcastic and spiteful I'll just say this: you are most important and you will always be most important. If you believe otherwise and you ignore the fact that the bad is really starting to outweigh the good, then you definitely have a problem brewing. It's hard to let go, but a very wise woman once said "if you love something, let it go. If it does not come back, it was never yours to begin with." Well I let go.

Today I bring you a very special song to me by Bright Eyes. It's sweet, slow paced, acoustic.

With love, Alma. Enjoy.

Welcome Home, Tysen!

So, if you've read my previous post about what I've been wanting lately, you'll see that I mentioned wanting a dog of my own to be my full responsibility and so on and so forth. Today I bring forth my new little puppy and love of my life, Tysen! A Maltese-Shih Tzu mix (Malshi as they called him), he is a total of 5 lbs. and 1 ounce.

This is a part of the post that I just recently added: The reason for me finally buying a dog for myself is because I am on medical leave from school I stay home 90% of the day, if not 100%. My mother thought it would be a good idea because I do get lonely a lot and I do suffer from depression. When I was younger I got into some bad stuff (thankfully I didn't get into any trouble) and I have just been wanting to avoid that scene. Unfortunately the "good" people around here are all off to university whilst the "bad" ones have remained in my hometown doing the exact same thing they've been doing since high school. I figured that I shouldn't be alone, especially since I do get depressed a lot, but I should have a positive environment for when I go back to school. This is not my parents spoiling myself. They are just trying to help me get past hard times.

Sorry the pictures aren't the best! He only sits still when he's napping and when I happen to not have my camera on me.

He has been taking a lot of my time and a lot of my sleep time but it's so worth it. He's just so cute and loving! Hopefully I'll be able to train him correctly and make him into a cute little gentleman.

Does anyone have any advice for a new dog owner? Anything is appreciated! Thank you!

Mini Polish Haul + Good Beadhead? + The Weather

Today I had to do a couple errands, finally pick up some things, yada yada... and I stopped by K-Mart because I heard there was a new line of nail polishes from Wet N' Wild! These polishes are supposed to have a larger pro sized brush and oh my god, they definitely are larger. I love love love larger brushes personally, though some don't. I used to think the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Polish brushes were large but the ones in these polishes are even larger! Maybe 1.5mm-2mm larger. Ah, love.

I picked up two polishes from the new WnW Megalast line so I could do a review later on. The colored I bought were 213C On a Trip which is a gorgeous periwinkle and 206C Undercover which is a dusty medium rose color that I absolutely adore. Both have creme finishes.

I also picked up a Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polish that was on sale for $3.50 in Fedora. This polish is a light taupe color with pale gold sparkle. There's a dollar store next to K-Mart so I always pick up a polish from there when I finally get my butt up and out of the house. The polish I picked up was by b.s.n. in Devil Sparks. This is a black jelly polish with magenta hexes and micro glitters. Ugh, these are notorious for smelling so extremely bad but they're just such gorgeous colors for only a buck. It's worth it!

I am one of the lucky few who wakes up with great hair but unfortunately whose hair gets worse over time. Every night I fall asleep with my hair wet after a shower and I wake up to great voluminous hair with perfectly tousled locks. Okay, okay, I know I'm sounding obnoxious but it's true! Sadly throughout the day, since my hair is so thick, it starts weighing itself down and becomes flatter and just ew. Excuse my face.

It's February and just look outside! It's absolutely stunning and sunny and it feels almost 70 degrees outside. There's no breeze whatsoever. I was driving around today blasting Britney Spears with my windows open and I just felt so amazing. Sigh. But it makes me wonder... February in New York is supposed to be the coldest month of the year but this is the nicest we've had in such a long time. Global warming? I onno.

Hope you enjoyed my post! Haha, see ya later guys.

BRB & TTYL

Hey, guys, I know it must have been kind of a while since I've made a post and I really apologize for that. A lot of things have been going on in my life that I cannot say are very happy. Right now I'm just trying to put my life back together and trying to get back on my own two feet. For a while I won't be doing any posts and I really want to apologize in advance for that. I hope you all are doing well and all of you are having a wonderful new year so far.

Talk to you later, my lovely friends and readers.

Beauty Blogger Tag

Yay! Tagged again! Today I'll be responding to a tag from Hannah from Life Sparkles that I thought would be lots of fun to answer. Sooo, here I go!

1. What are your favorite type of blog-posts to write?

I love making lipstick posts with lip swatches! I always get so excited because in order to get a successful lip swatch I always have to wait for the perfect natural lighting. When I do, it's like HALLELUJAH!

2. What are your favorite blogs to read?

I love love love reading blogs about nail polish & design, make-up reviews, and hauls!

3. How did you pick your blog name?

It was a nickname from when I was in high school, actually.

4. Which beauty blogger is your inspiration?

There is a woman from Croatia who created this blog Anatomy of Beauty. She takes the most incredible pictures and she's really so naturally talented at doing make up and just a lot of other things!

5. Name one tip you've learned through another beauty blogger?

I'm not sure as far as tips but I can say I've easily learned a lot from everyone!

6. What made you make a blog?

I was an avid reader of blogs myself, before I made mine, and one day I was just thinking to myself "why not?" and thus I created my own. I loved the idea of making friends from around the world and have readers who truly appreciate my input!

7. Do you have a favorite blog post of yours?

Hum... I can't say I do! I put a lot of love into each and every one of my posts.

8. Name one pro and one con of being a beauty blogger?

One con to being a blogger is that sometimes it can seem like a competition in my eyes. I see some bloggers who put absolutely no care or feeling into their posts and are just posting to fill up space and whadayaknow, they have a gillion more readers than I do while I put so much effort into my posts.

A pro is meeting so many people from around the world and I'm so thankful I've met them!

9. What advice would you give someone dealing with hate?

Hannah's response to this question could not have been said any better myself!

"I don't think there's as much hate on Blogger as there is on YouTube, but my best advice would be not to worry about it! Not everyone is going to like everything you do and that's okay, if they have nothing better to do than write a nasty comment, then they are not worth your time!"

10. How long does it take you to write a blog post?

Depending on the post, add in the time to take the pictures, do swatches, edit pictures, make a wholehearted review, it takes maybe 2-3 hours? Haha, yeah, a while, huh!?

11. What other blogs apart from beauty do you like to read?

I am a huge geek so I love to read about games (walkthroughs, the storylines, cheats, etc.)!

12. Who have you made friends with through blogging?

I have made friends and was given the chance to speak with so many people including the girl who tagged me in this post named Hannah! There's also a few other people who have been wonderful and have supported me while I blog such as Cerys Chloe, and many others!

13. How do you get ideas for a blog post?

Well, on slow days I sit myself down and I think of what I would like to hear product reviews about and what I would like to read about. I list them down and slowly but surely, I make posts about them!

14. Who do you tag?

Cerys! - The Fashion Palace - Get your tag on, Cerys! Haha.

That's all, folks! Hope you enjoyed my response to this tag!

A Small Lesson in Relationships

Sorry I haven't been posting too much recently. A lot has been going on and it's hard to get anything, nonetheless a post, in my agenda. Today I'm going to talk to you about relationships. I recently talked to an ex of mine and here is what I have compiled from my wisdom.

**This is extremely personal and possibly not best for younger readers.**

THEY ARE YOUR EX FOR A REASONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

My long ago ex who treated me like absolute garbage finally decided to say that me and him will have a future together. Say what? The first thing I said was NO THANK YOU. I am happy with the man I'm with right now and I plan on spending the rest of my life with him. His bitter response? Saying that I'm kidding myself and that all long distance relationships are bound to fail. That no one understands me besides him and that's why me and him will both be alone forever and no one will love me. Um, excuse me?

I fought for this boy and fought WITH this boy for the 9 months we were together. He was sexually abusive and he was selfish. He made me cry constantly and left me for days to suffer by myself. Let's just say a big mistake.

Thus, this is why I say exes are exes for a reason. The last thing he said is that he hopes I don't end up the way I was by listing all the bad things about my life in the past. Obviously he was not being serious and extremely spiteful.

Anyway, I don't want anyone to think these will come up too often. It's just when I'm feeling really intense that I feel like ranting. Everyone take care, and best of luck!

***This is all my personal opinion and should not be taken seriously, word by word. You are welcome to disagree, but keep negative comments to yourself!

On a New Year Note

The end of the year is drawing nearer and nearer, you guys! Can you believe it? I can remember sitting in front of my laptop and making a status about how the year 2011 is going to change my life. Has it? Yes, it definitely has. From moving out of my parents' house to a city 9 hours away, studying nursing and giving shots and doing some not so preferred dirty work, getting engaged only for him to have to leave to another country for a very long time. Not loving him any less for it. Coming very close to death and realizing that I'm truly not alone in this world - I can keep going forever but I won't! Promise! I just want to say that I am so incredibly grateful for everyone in my life, including you guys who have supported me and my silly blog rants for however long this thing has been up. I want to leave this post with a wonderful quote that I got from a Disney movie: (don't worry, it's actually very good.)

"Around here, however, we don't look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things... and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths."
- Walt Disney

So guys, let's open up new doors and follow curious paths! 2012, here we come.

A New Design + Happy Holidays!

Hey guys! I have been really indecisive on how I've been wanting to design my blog and if you've been following somewhat closely you might have noticed the constant banner changes. Anyway, I've finally finished redesigning my blog! All the buttons, the banner making, and some HTML work and voila!

On another note, I've changed the title of my blog from "Alma Bunny - Cute & Beautiful" to just "Alma Bunny" since that is what my URL is.

On another ANOTHER note, I'll be doing some blog clean outs so if you see repeats on old reviews and hauls just know that I'm just enhancing them and making them better!

What do you guys think? I'd love some feedback!

AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!

Updates on Life: Mostly Bad

So here are a couple new things going on in my life right now. Good and bad:
  • I got a new Sony Cybershot 16.1 MP Digital Camera. I love it.
  • My "fiance's" mother is sick so he had to go back home to Trinidad. Thus my engagement is at a halt for a few months. I have been crying the past two days straight.
  • My Christmas/New Years vacation is cancelled so I'll be spending Christmas and New Years alone. Again. Reason is previous bullet. Sigh.
  • I have re-realized how much I love my mother. Mothers are the best. She's been getting me through the day and also making sure he does too.
  • I'm trying to find a page view counter that works! Any suggestions?
  • Since I have no guy living with me right now I have a lot of time to blog since I have hardly any friends in real life... and online. Oh goodness.
Here's to a sucky ending to a sucky year. Here, here!
